Where I tell you the stories behind the pictures
The age of ice
Winter now clenches the Korean peninsula with all its strength. While we take shelter in the warmth of our apartments or cars, grimacing at the mere thought of stepping outside, we forget that little by little, winter brings a transparent and glistening argument: ice.
1 waterfall 3 seasons
This month, I want to invite you to one of my favorite activity: contemplating seasonal changes. My life has been following seasons’ tempo so let me convince you that nature’s immanence can still be ours.
Autumn at the park
In the very heart of Seoul is a place few think of as a haven of peace and natural beauty. I went there during fall sunrises, here are the images.
Panoramas
Today will be a trip, organized not geographically, but from details to grand views. I hope you like the voyage through this horizontal world.
24 hours on an island
The first boat is comfortable and fast, and the second boat is slow, loud, and doesn’t even have chairs. At the end of that second boat ride is Gureopdo - 굴업도.
1 day 3 waterfalls
Today I will bring you to 3 waterfalls that make the holly grail of waterfall touring in the north of Korea.
waterfalls and balance
I sense that there is a similarity between waterfalls and an artist’s life, and by extension, life in general. They taught me a lesson I hope can also serve you.
1 year 12 shots, year 3
Another year has passed, my wife and I have been keeping up our tradition of taking monthly post-wedding photos in our wedding gear. So, without further ado, let’s take a temporary break from my beloved nature and revisit this year.
Spring, flowers & views
Wildflower bushes gave place to flower trees. I went up in the hope of discovering more pink beauties. This blog is about what I found at higher altitudes.
Spring, shapes & colors
Let the colors and shapes of this whole spring day in the Korean forest reach the impressionist part of your soul.
Voyage to Jeju
“On Jeju, there are 3 “things” you will find everywhere: wind, black rocks, and women.” This post is an homage to this marvelous island.
Winter
Winter in Seoul is boring. Korean landscape, as a whole, is very bare in winter, the air dryness is so harsh that there is no other color in nature, aside from brown and evergreens’ needles. Even evergreens are less green. This is my attempt at embracing those issues rather than staying home hiding from them.
Clouds and Fog
Summer is approaching its end in Korea, it is typhoon season. Very soon it will be very early fall bringing mountain morning fog. I want to show you some images from both these spectacular times.
Treasures in the fog
Part 2 of my hike in rainy Gwanaksan. Put on some chill music and enter the fog with me to find some peaceful intimate landscapes.
Peace & war, in the rain
Come along for a hike in the clouds, experience the peace I felt in them, and the wartime memories associated with this trail.
